We welcome you inside our newly open Crafts Council Collections Store for a personal experience led by our very own collection team. We'll take you on a journey to learn how Crafts Council Collection came to be, see the tools we use and how we care for the works in the store. You will have the chance to touch and feel crafted items made by renowned practitioners in our Handling Collection.

This is the first time since the Crafts Council was established in 1972 that we have made the Collections Store open and available to the public. We are very excited to invite you to explore our collection with us, to unveil the tangible and intangible beauty of craft.

Duration of the tour: Approx. 50 minutes.

Accessibility: Tours are accessible to wheelchair users. Any other access requirement you would like to make us aware of please email publicprogrammes@craftscouncil.org.uk

  • For anyone who's interested in craft, especially the process of making.
  • For people who want to learn more about collection care or are seeking a career in collections, heritage, or conservation.
  • Families are welcomed. Please note that children under 18 should be accompanied by at least one guardian.

  • By bus: 30, 73, 205, 214, 277, 394, 476, N73 stop right across Crafts Council Gallery at bus stop Pentonville Road/Baron St.
  • By tube: 5 minutes from Angel station. 15 minutes from Kings Cross station.
  • By car: Very limited parking available for those with an access requirement. Please email us at least 5 working days in advance to check if it's available.

Can I take photos during the tour?

You're are welcome to take photos if they are not for commercial use and they are only focused on the object rather than the staff members or the space generally.

Can I take my belongings inside the store?

We will kindly ask you to leave your coat and bags in our designated area. Food and drinks are not allowed to be taken inside the store.
