The Wiltshire Game and Country Fair

Offering you an unbeatable family day out in the stunning grounds of Bowood House, near Calne, Wiltshire.

This show has grown to be a favourite with locals offering excellent arena entertainment throughout the day, including Falconry, Horse Boarding, Scurry Driving and more...

The World of Dogs offers the very best in dog displays accompanied by a working test, a gun dog clinic, multi-scurry, fun dog show, chase the bunny, whippet showing & racing on the Saturday, lurcher racing and showing both days. Something for every dog lover and country enthusiast, so don't leave your dog at home.

There is also the opportunity to have a go at Clay Shooting, Airguns and Archery and there is tuition and advice on hand.

A large craft village with craft marquees and traditional craft demonstrations is the perfect place to buy that special gift for yourself or someone special.

For those looking for something for the garden – a piece of artwork or sculpture, then the Chainsaw Carving Area is well worth a visit. Here you will find a speed carve arena with daily 30 minute speed carves where all the chainsaw carvers race against the clock to produce a wonderful carving. Once the speed carve has finished each piece is entered into the auction, a fun way to purchase your favourite carving. There is a chance to buy a larger sculpture that the carvers have produced over the two days of the event.

While the Food Glorious Food offers a range of selected national and local food producers and specialist street foods and drinks. Here you will find the Country Kitchen hosting a number of cookery demonstrations throughout the day - the perfect place to relax and unwind while listening to live jazz and folk.

With country clothing, quality country trade stands and children’s amusements we can offer you an unbeatable family day out in the stunning grounds of Bowood House.

Can I bring my Dog

Yes, Dogs are welcome at all of our events. Please keep on a lead and do not leave unattended in a car.

Can I use my ticket any day

Tickets are valid for one day only for either day of the show.

In 1977 the Queen's Silver Jubilee Year we held our 1st Antique & Collectors Fair. In 1980 we held our very 1st Craft Fair which then started of the craft fair movement, 1992 saw our very first Country Fair at Himley Hall which proved such a success we carried on to organise events at Sandringham, Burghley House and Bowood House to name a few. The first ever English Open Chainsaw Carving Competition was held at Sandringham, thirteen years on the competition is now held at our Cheshire Event and continues to draw the worlds top chainsaw carvers to compete for the coverted title. With Game & Country Shows, Craft Shows and Food Festival all over the Country and with nearly 40 years of experience you're sure to have a great day out.
