About Professor Sir Hilary Beckles:
Professor Sir Hilary Beckles is Chairman of the CARICOM Commission on Reparations appointed by the Heads of Government of the Community. He is the author of Britain's Black Debt and How Britain Underdeveloped the Caribbean.
Professor Sir Hilary Beckles is one of the Caribbean’s most distinguished historians and public intellectuals. He serves as the Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies and has made substantial contributions to global discussions on reparatory justice, colonialism, and the African diaspora. His work has been pivotal in advancing understanding of Caribbean history and its impact on contemporary issues.
