Chilham Castle is a 17th Century private residence set amongst stunning grounds with a vineyard, within walking distance from Chilham railway station.

Ticket holders will be given a Wine Garden of England tasting glass and tote bag, together with a book of tasting vouchers. Each voucher gets you a tasting from one producer, so that you can make your way around all of them, sampling the diversity of the group.

Each producer has a marquee around the lake. Tastings are available from 12pm - 6pm. After this time, guests are asked to move to the central field where they can enjoy the rest of the evening, until 9pm.

The central field is where there will be a wide choice of food producers, a shop and a bar with covered seating. Throughout the day will be Q&A sessions with the producers and a live band towards the evening. Please see the Agenda for more details.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I park?

Put CT4 8DB in your Sat Nav and it should take you to the entrance of Chilham Park off the A252. Follow signs to the car park, through the estate. Please note this is NOT suitable for vehicles that are low to the ground, such as some sports cars.

Can I leave my car overnight?

Not on the estate. Doors are locked at 9.30pm and will not be open again til Monday. If you would like to park in a free car park that does allow overnight parking, please use Taylor Hill which is accessible from the A252, signposted Chilham Town Centre.

How far is it from the Station?

Most people can walk the journey in 12 minutes. There will be signage, but set your phone to take you to The Square, Chilham. This will take you to the main entrance of the Castle.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome.

Can I bring my baby in a pram?

Absolutely. It will be useful for us if you could order a free ticket for your infant when you buy tickets, just so that we know how many will be on site.

Is there seating?

Yes, we have a stretch tent with 250 seats, plus a few garden seats around the lake. You are welcome to bring picnic chairs and blankets and set up where you like.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Please do not bring alcohol. Please do bring water, which you can top up at the water station. There will be plenty of food choice this year (last year we fell short and won't make the same mistake) so you do not need to bring food. However, if you need to bring snacks etc, go ahead.

Can I buy wine to take home?

Our shop in the white marquee next to the stretch tent will be selling a wide range of wines from our 9 producers. You can buy and takeaway or order for free delivery.

Is there local accommodation?

There is not much within walking distance. However, Canterbury and Ashford are nearby, and have plenty of options. If you would like a holiday let for a group, try Bloomstays.com

I've bought tickets and now I can't attend. What's your refund policy?

We are happy to refund (minus the booking fee) up to 28 days before the event (10th May). However, if you feel you are facing special circumstances, please request a refund and we will consider each case separately.
