Working in the NHS

With more than 350 types of occupations, the NHS offers a wide range of job and career opportunities. Whatever your skills, qualifications, or interests, there is likely to be a career for you in the NHS. You could work directly with patients, in hospitals, an ambulance trust, or in the community. There are roles in healthcare, medicine, therapies, administration, project management and facilities management, to name a few. This webinar is often attended by a guest speaker from one of the NHS Trusts in the West Midlands who gives an insight into how the NHS recruits and latest opportunities. The webinar will include:-

• How to find out and explore the full range of careers in the NHS
• How to identify potentially suitable types of work in the NHS if you are not sure of the role you want
• How to use the NHS Jobs website to find vacancies
• Help and advice available for job seekers looking for work in the NHS in the West Midlands
• Examples of recruitment opportunities in the West Midlands region

Webinars are delivered via Microsoft Teams.

For new customers, we recommend that you have an appointment with a National Careers Service adviser before the webinar takes place.

In the appointment the careers adviser will help you to:

• explore different careers and options
• review your strengths, skills and develop your career goals
• plan your next steps
• make the best use of high-quality, career-related tools
• understand the local job market
• access learning, training, apprenticeship and employment opportunities, including making applications
• develop your CV, interview skills and job searching techniques
• implement your plan of action.
