About our host, Martyn Walsh
My music career began with worldwide success as a recording and performing artist with my acclaimed band, Inspiral Carpets, and the associated Cow Records Label. This ongoing success, spanning over 30 years, has paved the way for my expertise in entrepreneurial and creative industry consultancy.
My entrepreneurial acumen was quickly recognised by organisations seeking advice for young musicians, leading to impactful results and expanding my influence into other sectors of the enterprise landscape.
In 2018, I spearheaded the Greater Manchester Music Review alongside GM Mayor Andy Burnham and UK Music. As co-chair, I hosted several key events, culminating in the published review in 2019, which ensured the creative sector's central role in Greater Manchester’s long-term strategic plan, including the creation of the Night Time Economy initiative and adopting the Agent Of Change.
