White Cloth Gallery are delighted to invite you to the exclusive private view of our next exhibition: Urban Exploration.
We are proud to, once again, support a Yorkshire-based community of emerging photographers in a hugely exciting exhibition of new work.
Documenting transitional and forgotten buildings - abandoned, derelict and always fascinating, these spaces and the images shown represent years of work from journeys around Yorkshire, to exploratory trips across Europe.
Hidden from common view and often of historical significance, these buildings showcase the remnants of past industries or spaces long discarded, from the grand cotton mills of Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, to fossil fuel power generation in the Meuse Valley, Belgium and coal extraction in the Ruhr Valley, Germany.
Through close friendship and a common unhealthy interest in finding, exploring and photographing these spaces, Jemma Roe, Joe Stenson and George McConville have devoted much of their time of the past 5 years to historical photographic documentation.
