Archives Hub Contributors' Workshop

An Archives Hub contributors' workshop will take place at Camden City Learning Centre, London, on 5 May 2015. This is a hands-on session, and computers will be available.

11.00 - 11.15: Introduction

11.15 - 12.00: The Archives Portal Europe (http://www.archivesportaleurope.net/)

12.00 - 1.30: Using the Archives Hub EAD Editor to create collection descriptions (with a hands-on session)

1.30 - 2.00: Lunch break

2.00 - 5.00:

* Using the Archives Hub EAD Editor to create multi-level descriptions

* Adding index terms

* Adding images and links to digital content

* Exporting from CALM and other archival systems

* Next Steps for the Archives Hub

** Initially, we will be limiting attendance to one person per institution/organisation. If anyone additional is interested in attending please let us know and we will inform you of availability at a later date. **

We strongly encourage you to bring your own descriptions (e.g. in Word or simply handwritten) in order to put them onto the Hub. If you use a system like CALM you may like to bring an XML export (email us if you want to know more). It will be possible to submit descriptions to the Hub on the day if you are happy to do so.
