Cemetery Club

Sheldon K. Goodman is a qualified City of Westminster Guide who has led tours for Pride in London, Open Garden Squares and the Royal Parks and has worked with the National Maritime Museum, the National Archives and Museums Showoff to create bespoke immersive tours and events. He has also led LGBTQ+ tours around Brompton & Arnos Vale cemeteries as well as looking at women's history in Hampstead.

Through his blog Cemetery Club, he seeks to challenge the perception that cemeteries are mournful places to be avoided - they are museums of people. Sheldon also does tours and events relating to queer history and heritage engagement.

Here's what people have been saying on Tripadvisor:

  • "The stories told were heartfelt and sad, but respectful and warm. It was a brilliant way of celebrating the history of East London where I live and feel a real sense of life there in Victorian times. Would recommend a tour with Cemetery Club wholeheartedly and hope to attend many more in the future." Gemma (Tower Hamlets)
  • "Outstanding tour and great to know about the people buried in Barnes cemetery. Professional and fun; worth seeing Sheldon in action and sing too!" Simon (Barnes)
  • "Highly recommend these tours, which are well-researched, quirky and just a bit challenging. We've done 3 Cemetery Club tours now and all have been worthwhile!" Vicky (Hampstead)
