Genera Films was born from a pure desire to help filmmakers get their short films made.

Initially, that was by offering a new type of funding opportunity, one with an accessible application process and waiving the right for any creative input on the projects we support.

Having now supported more than 55 projects since 2017, Genera Films has expanded to offer all filmmakers a new type of home for their short films.

We understand that short films aren’t just a way of showing audiences original stories told from new and unique perspectives. They’re also to show professionals in the film industry why they should invest in the talent behind them – just like we do.

That’s why we connect Genera Films Members, and their work, to those in the industry who can have a meaningful impact on their filmmaking career.
