Innovative Research Insights is a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) consulting firm dedicated to improving the services and outcomes of nonprofit and governmental agencies. Founded in 2007 as Sills Consulting, LLC, a partnership between Dr. Mark R. Sills and Dr. Stephen J. Sills, our team of experts is now led by Dr. Stephen J. Sills and Dr. Rachel S. Ryding who bring a wealth of methodological capacity and deep experience to every project we undertake.
Dr. Stephen J. Sills is a scholar and researcher specializing in community-engaged and applied sociological research. With over three decades of experience in higher education and non-profits, Dr. Sills has led dozens of evaluations and assessments. Dr. Sills has completed numerous studies on diverse topics, focusing on the sociodemographic context and social drivers of inequities in society.
Dr. Rachel S. Ryding is a sociologist and mixed-methodologist who brings a perspective focused on enhancing health equity and dismantling structural inequality to her work. Dr. Ryding has topical expertise in social determinants of health, behavioral health and substance use disorders, maternal substance use, health disparities, and risk and protective factors in both youth and adult populations. Dr. Ryding is experienced in working on evaluations of federal grants and university-based programs, offering technical assistance to stakeholders and grant recipients, and providing data-driven solutions.
