Professional Organization of Women in the Arts

POWarts, the Professional Organization of Women in the Arts, was founded in 2008 as an organization to champion the professional lives of women, and to help us to learn, connect, and build careers in the arts. The founding, and continuing, ethos of the organization is that generosity and leadership can go hand in hand and that a collaborative spirit also supports individual advancement. POWarts programming stems from a belief that art and business are not separate, but that understanding business is vital to creating space for art itself to thrive.
