Sentientism

Sentientism is a philosophy or worldview committed to "evidence, reason and compassion for all sentient beings". Like many worldviews it suggests how we should answer some of the deepest philosophical questions... "what's real?" and "who matters?". Sentientism suggests we should work out what's real using a naturalistic approach based on good evidence and reasoning. When it comes to who matters, Sentientism suggests that every sentient beings should matter morally - meaning at the very least we wouldn't needlessly exploit, harm or kill them. Sentient beings are those with the capacity to have experiences - to suffer or to flourish.
