A beautiful 18th century house, childhood home of the Queen Mother, set in a spectacular landscape garden of the same date. A tour of the house shows royal memorabilia of Queen Elizabeth II and of her mother. The Bowes Lyon family have lived here since 1720, and the house retains original furnishings and interesting pictures. Visitors have a guided tour of the house followed by a walk in the 50 acre garden with its long vistas leading to temples and statues. There are stunning seasonal displays of flowers and wild flowers are encouraged.
